the cast of How I Met Your MotherI'm sure I have mentioned this before but HIMYM is one of the best shows on TV and people need to watch it. Plus it is one of the only shows on television that is still done in the traditional sitcom tradition (not that I don't love The Office and 30 Rock but sometimes you just need a laugh track.) Anyway HIMYM has hysterical and clever story lines and such orginal jokes (the slap bet, Robin being a secret Canadian 80's popstar but in the 90's because it's Canada, and of course Barney's pronunciation of legendary.) A sitcom has not had so many inside jokes since Friends with ugly naked guy and the hand gestures. It is a great ensemble of actors but Mr.Neil Patrick Harris is definitely the stand-out as the total man whore Barney (he is like the male version of Samantha from Sex and the City except with better jokes.) However, Jason Segal (a member of the Judd Apatow frat), Ted Moseby and newcomer Cobie Smulders all are great as well. I have always found Alyson Hannigan to be whiny and annoying and I am amazed that she has wound up on two of my favorite shows ever (Buffy and this one) but even she is tolerable in her role. And with a narration by Bob Saget you know the show has got to be good. The show, which is on CBS on Mondays at 8 PM, is followed by the new show The Big Bang Theory which looks better than the commercials. However, there is absolutely no sexual chemistry between Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco so there is no one you are routing for to get together which always helps me in a new show.
That premiere was awesome!

Kaley Cuoco is not going to
Kaley Cuoco is not going to be the love interest for Johnny Galecki. Sara Gilbert is coming onto the show in the third episode to be Johnny's love interest. If you remember, Sara and Johnny appeared together as Darlene and David in Roseanne and they have great chemistry together. Stay tuned, because this show will really heat up by the 3rd episode.
