Ellen Crosses Picket Line Because She "Has To", Writers Feel Like Dogs

And your little dog, too!And your little dog, too!And we all know how Ellen treats her dogs. Unlike Leno, Letterman and Stewart, Ellen quickly made a decision that her show must go on, crossing the picket lines to do so. As her betrayal of her writers became known, it caused other accounts of Ellen's diva-like behavior with her staff to come to light. It turns out Howard Stern's tale of nine discarded dogs may not be so far-fetched after all.

Friday's Page Six brings the story of an unidentified former writer for Ellen who was witness to Ellen's love and gratitude during filming that quickly turned to piss and vinegar when cameras stopped rolling. The mysterious source also claimed that Ellen stole material from a friend she promised a job to. She never came through with the job.

The Post quotes a TV insider as saying that Ellen may feel she has no choice but to continue filming. "This is her last chance in show business. This show is the only thing keeping her from a lifetime of touring college campuses." Maybe she's worried that Portia will bail if she's not making any money.
