Michael Phelps in the suitMichel Phelps is hosting the season premiere of SNL. He will join the great tradition of exceptional atheletes being non-exceptional hosts. This was first started by Nancy Kerrigan who was really only interesting because she got hit in the legs. They should have had Oksana host. She probably would have gotten drunk and fallen off the stage. A figure skater falling?! That's hilarious! And then there was Bodi Miller (who had actually not done so great at the olympics either as I recall) who was an alright host. I would have to say Peyton Manning was probably the funniest when he just let it all out in the skit where he danced in the locker room. And now it is Michael's turn. I love the boy dearly and think he is absolutely amazing and would date him in .5 seconds (Baltimore is not far from New York Michael. Just a car or train ride away) but a personality-filled boy he ain't. Even his agents are worried. I say just let him stand up there in a speedo and talk about his wing span. I'd watch. Or have him battle that obnoxious French guy. And if that doesn't work out just bring back Shia Labeouf. He is the Lindsay Lohan of 2008 for SNL.
