Yesterday the Los Angeles DA announced Mackenzie will face two felony drug charges as a result of her coke and heroin bust at LAX last week. As serious as that sounds, she's already taking the right steps. By voluntarily entering rehab she's showing the court that she realizes she has a problem and is seeking treatment. For anyone else, this would be encouraging ... but we're talking Mackenzie Phillips here. And this is her tenth time in rehab.
That's more than Ron Wood, Amy Winehouse and Scott Weiland combined. Speaking of old Rolling Stones, maybe they should just drain out all her drug-addled blood and replace it with new, clean blood - it reportedly worked for Keith Richard - but if Mackenzie goes right back to the same friends when she gets released, chances are pretty good she'll relapse. She's a hardcore IV drug user, and unfortunately she's hit bottom so many times she barely noticed the impact.
