Julia StilesI saw her the other day in a CVS looking at magazines, perhaps to see who were the current it girls. She still looks cute as a button and looks about 24 at the oldest though I think she is in her late 20’s now. Anyway, she hasn’t had a film in a while except for The Bourne Ultimatum and the ill-fated The Omen but those seem long ago in film world. I did read that she is finally adapting the Sylvia Plath novel, “The Bell Jar,” for the screen. Because Lord knows audiences have just been dying to see the live-action film of that page-turner. If you may recall, in Julia’s breakout role in “10 Things About You,” opposite the now deceased Heath Ledger, her character Kat loved Sylvia Plath. This brings us to our point. ABC Family is considering doing a TV version of “10 Things.” Yes, I loved that film but I think they are about 6 years too late on the whole teen/Shakespeare thing. I don’t know if “10 Things” could compete with the masterpiece that is “Gossip Girl” or the freshness of “90210.” However, it was probably the smartest teen film that came out during those three years when every film was about a bet, a makeover and a totally mean girl. Plus, I just don’t think you could recreate the chemistry or the talent that Julia and Heath had.
