Is he ill? Perhaps. The author of a Jackson biography says that Michael suffers from a rare and potentially fatal lung disease and that he rarely goes out at all any more, and when he does it's often in a wheelchair. This could be why he's always got his face covered, too, but then again his nose could have collapsed again.
Then again, this could all be an act to avoid his legal responsibilities. Jackson has become a top target in the civil courts: people just love to sue him. The Prince of Bahrain, who must have been insane to let Michael burn through $7 million of his money. Jackson's lawyers are now claiming he's too sick to appear for this case.
The latest to jump on the Sue Jacko wagon is some wackadoodle named Billie Jean Jackson, who even claims to be Blanket's mother, and wants $1 billion "in support of Blanket". Billie Jean also sued him in 1987 for not paying child support for their three children to the tune of $150 million. Yikes. With crazies like this chasing him, it's no wonder he's in seclusion.
