By all accounts Donda was an exceptional woman and mother who spent more than thirty years in education. Most recently she had left her position at Chicago State University to help her son run West Brands and a non-profit foundation in his name. She even released a book recently, Raising Kanye about bringing her boy up right. Things were going really well, and maybe Donda decided she needed a little fix-me-up before making appearances.
Donda went in for a breast reduction and tummy tuck Saturday morning and was sent home. At 7:35, 911 was called to her house for a medical emergency; by 8:30 she was pronounced dead.
The death of this seemingly healthy 58-year-old woman serves as a reminder that plastic surgery is still surgery, and there are serious risks involved. Donda's surgeon said that her death could have been caused by "a heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or massive vomiting." An autopsy has been scheduled for this week to make a determination.
